Year One

I can't believe that one year ago, today, I left my beloved San Diego for the Second City! I have grown to love Chicago and can finally call it my humble home. The last year has been quite the experience to say the least: from leaving San Diego and driving through Vegas, Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore and finally arriving in Chicago to a new job, new friends, luxury and vintage shopping that can easily make the richest go broke, the absolute best food spots, festivals and street fairs up the wazoo, quick flights to NYC and visitors, lots of visitors. One year successfully lived, and hopefully the years to come only get better!

fall

I'v recently noticed small signs of fall starting to rear its pretty little head.....intermittent cooler temps, September Issues, ads for back to school shopping and of course, fall fashion spreads. I saw a slide show on NYMag.com and had to share the goods. Not that I will be wearing anything remotely close to what you see here, but it's always fun to dream and get inspired =)

Randolph Street Market

This weekends' street market, the summer version of the Modern Vintage Chicago market that I attended this past spring/winter, was the vintage/antique hunter's heaven. You could find everything from shabby chic furniture to Ferragamos from the 80s. Lots of happy women, to say the least. Now the "heat wave" that we're experiencing here in the midwest did take a little pleasure away from the experience, but that certainly did not hold precedence over the excitement of adding a few new pieces to our apartment! Check it out!

[Love the pop of color that this bar added to the living space]
[I couldn't leave without a piece of jewelery now could I?]
[The seller (may have made this up on the spot but) called these "Southern Exposure" and "A Look Inside"]

holiday part 3: SF and NYC

Ooopsie! Forgot to post pictures from the last leg of my holiday. SF and NYC. Two cities that couldn't be more different, but two cities that I would love to call home one day. We spend the night at the Clift hotel in downtown SF and got the most amazing last-minute deal. Thank you very much hotels.com. Shopping on Haight St, drinks at our hotel bar, dinner at Burma Superstar then crepes right across the street. An flight early the next morning to NYC led us to food, food, food, friends, friends, friends, and summer sales summer sales summer sales. And that my friends is the conclusion of my summer vacation!
